It's Saturday evening and I've spent the afternoon working, so I'm in the mood for watching something fun and unchallenging. I think I'm going to go for Bill and Ted Face the Music, which sounds like it should fit the bill (my solo TV of choice has moved on from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries to The Marvellous Mrs Maisel, apart from on Sewing Bee nights, which is similarly fun).

What are your favourite fun and unchallenging things right now?

The Repair Shop - it’s the only TV I am making any time to watch at all (other than Tik Tak, Sarah & Duck and Hey Duggee with my toddler). I also love Sewing Bee and its ilk, but I think the Repair Shop has all the joy of skilled people doing their thing with even less of the competitive tension - which makes it much easier to watch half an episode and stop because it’s toddler bedtime or whatever. :)

Seconded. I can't cope with reality TV, but though The Repair Shop has its share of "can they make it work!!" and emotional stories, the technical side is fascinating and the craftwork excellent.

Ah, for me, yes there’s emotion and some ‘can they do it?!?’ but I’m pretty confident that if it’s on the show, it’s been a successful fix and the recipient is happy. :)

Sarah and Duck is excellent though. I kind of miss it. I also blame it for the youngest at age 10 firmly stating that at secondary school she wanted to learn the tuba. But that is not necessarily a bad thing. She is now 13 and in a brass band.

Sarah and Duck is very good. I miss it too. I have had no demands for a tuba yet, but now J has moved on to Dengineers we get frequent requests for impossible dens.

I miss Sarah and Duck. It was a favourite when my son was smaller.

I like a lot of things about the Repair Shop but they do get a bit UK jingoistic sometimes, especially with any military items that are brought in for repair.

That is true, I could totally do without that aspect. I would like to see more of objects from different cultural groups in the UK and different international origins. I'm thinking of the plaster mannequin lady from the Indian shop, and the little mosaic cross that I think was Romanian. More of that sort of thing!

Sounds like I have missed some of the more diverse ones! I don't think I've seen either of those. My daughter watched a whole bunch of episodes, series after series, while I only dipped into them occasionally if I was in the same room and fancied a sit down.
