It's Saturday evening and I've spent the afternoon working, so I'm in the mood for watching something fun and unchallenging. I think I'm going to go for Bill and Ted Face the Music, which sounds like it should fit the bill (my solo TV of choice has moved on from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries to The Marvellous Mrs Maisel, apart from on Sewing Bee nights, which is similarly fun).

What are your favourite fun and unchallenging things right now?

The Repair Shop - it’s the only TV I am making any time to watch at all (other than Tik Tak, Sarah & Duck and Hey Duggee with my toddler). I also love Sewing Bee and its ilk, but I think the Repair Shop has all the joy of skilled people doing their thing with even less of the competitive tension - which makes it much easier to watch half an episode and stop because it’s toddler bedtime or whatever. :)

I've been having a lot of fun watching Mr Queen on Viki.com. I also saw today that latest fandom-favourite Chinese BL drama "Word of Honor" is apparently coming to Netflix soon, and I instantly thought "I should mention that to [personal profile] white_hart as she liked The Untamed. I have to admit that I watched 2 eps yesterday when feeling rubbish and thoroughly prepared to mock, but actually the set-up was very neatly and comprehensibly done, giving more confidence in the script than I'd expect, and they have cast leads who aren't junior idols, but grown-ups with experience, so I shall be continuing as my new light drama.

Robin of Sherwood from the 1980s. It is extremely unchallenging, but you do have to keep to a one or two episode a day limit in order to recover from the plots.

Mostly I am too tired to find Nirvana in Fire on my laptop and plug it in so it is whatever is on telly in old-fashioned pre-streaming style. I like The Repair Shop (though it often makes me cry) and Gardener's World and things where people make other people's gardens lovely and everyone cries, although I get all of these similar programmes confused but I don't think this matters. Sometimes they have Charlie Dimmock in and sometimes they don't.

I also enjoy Saving Lives at Sea where the lifeboat people come and rescue people who are clinging to rocks. It often has amazing scenery, if obviously a bit storm-lashed. This sometimes makes me cry as well.

With youngest child, I am watching Sewing Bee and Taskmaster and Schitt's Creek.

There was a series about the Pennine Way on BBC4 last week which I'm quite enjoying. Just five half-hours so not a big time commitment, though also not much to binge!

All That Glitters is in the Sewing Bee family of shows, and features some fantastic jewellery. Hosted by Katherine Ryan. I'm enjoying it.

We watched School of Rock as a family the other day, that was very watchable. Also Flushed Away was more fun than I remembered: basically anything with Ardman Animations is fantastic, whether or not it includes Wallace & Gromit themselves.

I watched Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge on the Run the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have also been binge-watching Masterchef Australia on Amazon Prime.

I'm currently enjoying Seaside Hotel on All 4. Danish comedy set in a summer hotel between the wars.
