Let's have one, anyway. What have you been watching/reading/listening to lately?

(I have been working my way through Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries recently, which is hitting the right entertaining-but-undemanding buttons, though the series lacks the overtly feminist slant of the novels.)

Penric and Desdemona novellas by Bujold, which everyone else here but me has probably been reading for a decade.

I am really liking them at the moment. If you’re going to read Penric’s Mission then strongly suggest checking in for a limited spoiler as I know you’re fragile for reading right now.

Somewhat late to the party, I'm watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's got its problematic elements, but it's also great fun, and it's really not intellectually demanding. It's got character growth and everything.

My parents is have been loving Call My Agent on Netflix. I enjoy Miss Fisher a lot. It's well acted, and the leads have great chemistry.

I'm finding it difficult to find the right things to read at the moment. Oddly, Kazuo Ishiguro's An Artist of the Floating World has worked, but I think next I'll reread some Pratchett.

I've just finished watching the BBC Musketeers from about 2015, and enjoyed it very much.

I love Miss Fisher, the characters have such great chemistry together and I love the outfits ;)

I'm reading A Desolation Called Peace by Arkady Martine - it's really excellent, possibly even better than A Memory Called Empire, I thoroughly recommend the duology to any fans of space opera.

TV-wise, I'm finally watching the final series of Farscape so I suspect I win the most behind the times award there ;)

I know what you mean, I'd had it sitting on my TBR shelf since Helen G bought it for me last year. It took me a while, I admit.

Elizabeth R has been on BBC4, so I've been watching it on iPlayer. It's really very good, and the costumes are fabulous.

When the Germans Came, by Duncan Barrett - non-fiction about the German occupation of the Channel Islands. Very interesting.

The only trouble is that every book I read on this subject leaves me with a list of more books I want to read. It's all Geoffrey Trease's fault; I read Tomorrow is a Stranger at an impressionable age.
