Reading: Dramatick Rivalry
Apr. 29th, 2018 05:57 pmThe fifth in the Comfortable Courtesan series sees Clorinda devising a stratagem to divert speculation from the true nature of her friend Lord G- R-'s sexuality, alongside divers soirées, romances and some less-plesant incidents that demonstrate that #metoo really isn't anything new.
As always, this was a delight to read, especially as the instalments making up this volume first appeared at a time when I was clearly struggling to keep up with my DW reading page and I had missed or only half-caught several of the plotlines the first time round. I love the way the characters are becoming more rounded and fully developed as the series progresses, and it remains my current absolute favourite gentle comfort reading (and absolutely perfect for a weekend which has otherwise mostly been lost to reproductive system-induced woes).
