Caterpillars (241/365)

I was pootling around in my sewing room earlier when my next-door neighbour saw me by the window and called up to say that she'd found several elephant hawk moth caterpillars in her garden, and did I want to come and see them?
I counted six of them on her fuchsia bush. They were impressively large - maybe about three inches long and 10mm in diameter, green and brown with big eyes. Looking them up, it appears that they overwinter as chrysalises, so I must try to remember to look out for the moths next spring.
