In some ways I think I find it easier to go out with bare hairy legs wearing shorts than I would have done when I used to wear dresses, because shorts-and-hairy-legs is a perfectly acceptable look for people who aren't read as women, and dresses-and-hairy-legs isn't :-(

The peer pressure is very difficult to cope with.
