The latest published volume of the Comfortable Courtesan series sees Clorinda, now well-established in society, tackling difficulties within her normally well-run household, solving various problems for her circle of friends, and attending a house-party aimed at sounding out aspiring members of the political coterie centred on the Duke of M- and Lord G- R-. It's as delightful as the earlier books; Clorinda solving other people's problems is an utter joy and I'm not sure I could ever get tired of reading about it, and the main characters continue to become more complex and rounded. Still my absolute favourite comfort reading.
