The fireworks here sounded like dozens of big field guns being fired together, a tremendous noise for 10 minutes. Luckily the cats didn't mind.
It's so difficult to see a parent decline. My dad went relatively quickly and was only 69 (dementia). Mum just got old and gave up.
I hope 2022 is a better year for you. *Hugs*
