When I was fairly recently on the A14, the M5 had taken so long that it was ten at night and the lorries kept slowing down and disappearing into lay-bys and I felt oddly fondly disposed towards them. "Lorry going to sleep... ahhh... bye-bye lorry... wish I could just stop and go to sleep... lucky lorry".
Glad parents are in good spirits and nice to be with.
