I think that 24 degrees is actually the kind of temperature I'd normally think was perfect for a summer day, but a week ago I was wearing woollies and it's a bit of a shock to the system.

It's clearly also a bit of a shock to the facilities people at work, because several of the radiators still appeared to be emanating heat. (Fortunately not the one in my office, which I turned right down when we went back to 100% remote working in November, and never turned up again.)

Astoundingly, though, I have managed the first outing of my sandals (ETA: not the new sandals, my old ones which normally give me blisters the first time I wear them every year) without blisters, despite doing quite a bit of walking (to and from Summertown where I'd parked the car, and round the Parks at lunchtime). Normally I'd rub my feet with surgical spirit to toughen them up, but I don't appear to have any surgical spirit; however, I realised when I got into the office that what I did have (obviously) was a big bottle of hand sanitiser, so I applied that instead on the grounds that it's basically the same thing. It seems to have done the trick, anyway.

I wore a T-shirt (and camisole) outside today with no jumper over it. I've only worn a jumper (and T-shirt, and vest) outside without a coat about three times since September. It is indeed quite a shock, though I'm enjoying it a lot.

Glad the sandals are comfortable so far.

Teva sandals are really great for that, I don't think mine have ever given me a blister.

Yes. Like, this time last week I was wearing a big fluffy hoodie. Today it hit 29C at my desk, which is Far Too Hot. (We did cock up shading the windows, because it turns out that being up for an 8am meeting slows one down.

Got up to 25.6 here this pm!

Not used to this sort of thing! A Summer dress finally had to come out!

I actually had to work in my dining room because both the garden and my upstairs SW facing study were too hot in the afternoon!

It's definitely been a shock to this system. It's been 26C here today. *phew*

This year we have gone from 'wintry' to (my definition of) 'too hot' (anything above 20ish) without any nice spring bits in between. I like the temperature when you don't need a coat or thick jumper but you don't need to think about whether you'll get hot in jeans.

I am very impressed with sandals not rubbing! I seem to be too clumsy-footed to wear open-toed shoes.

Ah, that doesn't help - bare feet are always a great way to cool down (she says, sitting at her desk with bare feet)

Not just a shock to my system. For three days and three nights Zoe (part Papillon so equipped with permanent “fun-fur” spent all the time hiding under the furniture in the coolest room she could find. We have both adapted now, but all we can stand on the bed at night is a duvet cover without the duvet inside.
