Today's sunshine was making my room quite warm, so after my two o'clock meeting I got up and opened the window before I called back the person who'd tried to ring me while I was in the meeting. Looking out of the window, I saw Not My Cat sunning itself on the conservatory roof and said hello. Not My Cat, in the manner of cats everywhere, entirely ignored me, so I sat back down, put my headphones on and made the call.
Two minutes later I heard a thud behind me, and could just glimpse, out of the corner of my eye, Not My Cat stalking through the room and out on to the landing. Fortunately, it wasn't a very long call, and as soon as it was over I dashed off to see if I could find where it had gone, to be greeted by a rather perplexed T saying he'd just walked into the kitchen to find the cat sitting in the conservatory waiting to be let out of the back door.
The only really surprising thing about this is that it's taken a whole year of working from home for it to happen.
