I didn’t quite mean I thought it was romance as such, more that I felt a similar level of incomprehension to the one I’ve experienced when attempting to read romance. There did seem to be a suggestion that both of them ended up feeling more than their supposedly casual liaison would justify, though. Or perhaps that was just me not getting it.
