Reading: Rustick Exile
Feb. 17th, 2018 07:23 pmThe second self-published volume of the Comfortable Courtesan series, originally published in serial form online, finds Madame C- in circumstances which necessitate a withdrawal from London society. Most of this volume therefore takes place at the Surrey house left to her by a former lover, General Y-. Madame C-'s removal from her usual wide circle allows this book to concentrate more closely on her relationships with two couples, the F-s and Lord G- R- and Mr McD- and to let the readers become better acquainted with the members of her household. It's just as delightful as the first; funny and charming and occasionally very moving. I am very happy to have the series in book form now.
