Tenuous claims to fame (88/365)

I don't have a lot of tenuous claims to fame*, but as of 7:30 this evening I will be able to say that my handknitted socks have been on BBC2.

(They will be on Mastermind, on the feet of T, who will also be on Mastermind.)

What are your best tenuous claims to fame?

*nor do I have any actual claims to fame, really

Me too, she looked about to burst into tears, didn't she?

And so relieved and shocked when there was finally a general knowledge question that she knew. The knitting lady also looked terrified throughout.

Yes, she did. And got flustered and missed some answers she knew.

It really did, I'm sure she knew a bunch of the answers, I didn't think the general knowledge questions were *that* hard, I got several.

T says it's a known phenomenon - people just get stuck in a cycle where they miss a question they knew the answer to and then are too busy inwardly beating themselves up about that and miss part of the next question, so they pass on that one too, and so on and so on. One of the things he practiced was getting things wrong and just moving on.

I have seen it now. Well done T. And he also looked as though he had practised "say an answer, any answer, quickly rather than pass" in case it came down to number of passes, although it really really didn't :-)

As well as watching lots of old episodes he spent some time practicing with me firing questions at him out of the Mastermind quiz book, to get used to not passing or spending too long thinking ;-)
