I'm surprised it's taken this long (81/365)

Today's sunshine was making my room quite warm, so after my two o'clock meeting I got up and opened the window before I called back the person who'd tried to ring me while I was in the meeting. Looking out of the window, I saw Not My Cat sunning itself on the conservatory roof and said hello. Not My Cat, in the manner of cats everywhere, entirely ignored me, so I sat back down, put my headphones on and made the call.

Two minutes later I heard a thud behind me, and could just glimpse, out of the corner of my eye, Not My Cat stalking through the room and out on to the landing. Fortunately, it wasn't a very long call, and as soon as it was over I dashed off to see if I could find where it had gone, to be greeted by a rather perplexed T saying he'd just walked into the kitchen to find the cat sitting in the conservatory waiting to be let out of the back door.

The only really surprising thing about this is that it's taken a whole year of working from home for it to happen.

the pub cat from next door (whose name is Stanley, who we refer to as The Cow Cat), had a nose around my bedroom a couple weeks ago, only to be chased from the house by my 5 lb fluff ball Makku, who is normally super friendly?? I was stunned at her sudden interest in territory defence, normally she lets Sasa the Cat's series of weird boyfriends have some kibbles, explore, etc.

Our neighbourhood nosy cat comes in through the patio doors in summer and has been known to make it upstairs without being spotted first. Once or twice it poked its head round baby J's door when I was trying to get her to sleep and I jumped so much that all my good work was undone!

Someone I know was in his bathroom when a neighbour's cat suddenly leapt through the window.
Since the law deems a cat to be a roamer, cats can do what they please.

Our cats get on the neighbour's extension roof and from there up and down the roof of entire terrace. We're convinced one of them's going to go through someone's open Velux window one day...

I spotted a rather regal black cat striding through my garden looking like it owned the place a few weeks ago. Given I have no doubt Wilbur would kill it if he caught it, I rapped firmly on the window to frighten it off and fortunately haven't seen it since. Hopefully the garden increasingly smelling of dog will put it off visiting.

I wouldn't mind otherwise, the birds have plenty of roosting spots, but I really do not want to be worrying about letting Wilbur out in the garden and I would be mortified if he hurt someone's pet!
