Swimsuit! (198/365)

I finished making my swimsuit, and am utterly delighted with it.



I didn't find working with the slippery fabric too difficult, but I intensely disliked the clear elastic I'd got and will just use normal elastic if I make another one. (Which, let's face it, seems highly likely to happen at some point.) It ended up being a bit of a bodge, but no-one else is going to notice.

I'm looking forward to trying it out in the water tomorrow!

I think regular elastic is only affected by pool chemicals, so if you use the blue one whilst wild swimming only, you're golden. :)

I haven't been in a swimming pool since March 2020 and have no idea when I might swim in one again, so that's probably fine!

While doing the cooking volunteering, we got talking about sewing and a friend who sews said she is trying to make rather than buy clothes. I mentioned your swimming costume and she is intrigued (also a cold water swimmer). Could you tell me where the pattern is from and where you got the fabric? And would you mind me showing her the photo?

The pattern is Jalie 971 and the fabric was from Funki Fabrics who specialise in stretch fabric. And it's fine to show her the picture.
