I'm not sure it's romance as such - though admittedly it's years since I read it. But as I recall it's more about Lea indulging herself with a bit of hot young totty rather than Troo Luv - and him getting that supposed Male Fantasy of Initiation by Sophisticated Hott Older Woman? - and sort of a prelude to her deciding that she's made a nice pile as a grande horizontale and it's time to give it up and all the tedious maintenance work that goes with it, with the consequences seen in The Last of Cheri.
