I'm baffled at people thinking the Vorkosigan books, especially the earlier ones, aren't political! They are very much so and I wouldn't have said that they are subtle about it (and why should they be). I'm not actually a big fan of The Vor Game, though I enjoy the first part, the second half of the plot just doesn't work for me for some reason even though I quite like Gregor.
